HD WORLD - MARCH 2018

It would be great if we do not need an official day to champion women!

International Women’s Day is celebrated globally on every 8th March since the early 1900s. This is the day to celebrating achievements of women; and also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity- to make this world a fairer place.

Based on World Health Organisation’s estimation, one in three women worldwide are victims of physical or sexual abuse- usually at the hands of an intimate partner.
According to United Nation’s reports, women still spend more time on housework and childcare than men do- one to three hours more on housework, and two to 10 times the amount of time on childcare and the elderly.
In companies under Fortune 500, a mere 14 percent of top executive positions are held by women- and only 24 of those companies have female as CEOs
In Asia, the pay gap between men and women stands at 18 percent- despite women working longer hours.
The World Economic Forum predicts that the global gender pay gap won't close until 2186.

Let's press forward and progress gender parity.
