I do understand that it can be challenging to lead a virtual team, especially when it comes to understanding the working style and personality of every member, and building synergy and coherence as a team.  The word “synergy” bears a gestalt hue to it, as it connotes that “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts”. This is an indication that synergy happens when team members are “contributors” and not just “employees”. And it is evident that there is a spike in the level of efficiency, creativity, production and generating desired outcomes, when any team works well together as contributors.

The digital work environment has collaterally fostered human connections in certain unexpected ways. As the boundary between one’s personal and professional life is eroded, interruptions that might have been seen as unprofessional are transformed as humanizing instead. Considering this, we need to actively construct processes that promote synergy as a team, when working virtually or even in a hybrid mode.
